Dr. Caroline Xiong — practitioner portrait

The Practice

Over 20 years in one pair of hands

Dr. Caroline Xiong has been practising acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine at Chadstone Acupuncture Centre for more than twenty years. In that time, every person who has walked through the door has been seen by the same practitioner — not a rotating roster, not a franchise network. One clinician, her full attention, every consult.

Her mission is simple: to provide professional, caring service in a warm and relaxing environment — and to help each patient find a healthier, happier, more balanced life by getting to the root of what's wrong, not just easing the surface symptom.

"My goal is to help you find a healthier, happier, and more balanced quality of life — and to get you back on the path to good health."

Training & Credentials

East and West, in one clinician

After completing a PhD in Medical Science at the Monash Medical Centre (Clayton), Monash University, Dr. Xiong turned her attention to acupuncture — completing formal acupuncture studies at the Acupuncture College of Melbourne.

That pathway — a Western medical research doctorate followed by rigorous TCM training — is what makes each consult at Chadstone Acupuncture Centre genuinely different. Dr. Xiong reads both a Western clinical chart and a Chinese-medicine pulse in the same appointment. Western diagnosis and traditional treatment are not two separate philosophies here; they are the same conversation.

Western grounding

Medical doctor in China; Medical Science PhD at Monash University — a rigorous western diagnostic framework underpins every consult.

Eastern mastery

Formal acupuncture training at the Acupuncture College of Melbourne, and more than two decades of clinical TCM practice.

China practice

Spent at least one month per year for five years working in China — practising alongside Professor Hua Xi Chan and Professor Tang Fu Zhang at two major Wuhan hospitals.

International experience

Practised acupuncture aboard Carnival Cruise Line ships in the Caribbean, where she was ranked among the top five acupuncturists in the fleet.

Specialties

What she treats

Dr. Xiong specialises in treating pain, general wellbeing, women's health, and children's health — and more. She employs acupuncture holistically and specifically, looking for the underlying cause of your symptoms using both her strong western and eastern medical knowledge and experience.

Her full toolkit of techniques includes: Chinese Acupuncture, Electroacupuncture, Cupping, Gua Sha (scraping), Moxibustion, Magnetic Therapy, Meridian Massage (Tui Na), and Nutrition and Lifestyle Advice.

Her Approach

Root cause, not surface symptom

Dr. Xiong takes every concern seriously. She looks for the underlying cause of your symptoms, drawing on strong western and eastern medical knowledge — a medical doctor in China who also holds a Medical Science PhD from Monash, and who has practised acupuncture for more than two decades.

The result is a consult that feels both thorough and unhurried. You are not a recurring appointment; you are a person whose full health history — physical, emotional, and environmental — shapes the treatment plan.
